Sunday 11th NovemberThe end of the build is in sight now, although I won't be so rash as to try and put a time on it, as I've been caught that way before! Today I fitted the radiator, finished the fuel system and started the wiring for the instruments. I'm rapidly approaching the point where the missing exhaust manifold and tank tie-down strap are going to hold up the final inspection (Flylight - please note!) Hours effort: 5
Bummer of the dayTrying to fit the water temperature probe supplied by Brauniger (manufacturers of the EFIS), and discovering it has a totally different thread to the hole in the engine. Supposedly, this probe is manufactured especially for the Rotax 582 although, to be fair, they never actually said it would fit! It was a total nightmare getting the cables pulled through the conduit in the first place, and it now seems one of them has to be replaced. I think there's a good chance I'm going to have to take the pod off again to get the conduit out. Either that, or run the new cable outside the conduit. I know it'd be a shame to do that now, but I'm not sure I can face ripping it all out again. Bugger! |
